Cases for a Cause

There are about 16,000 children throughout the foster care system in Arizona. Each year about 800 of those foster kids become 18 and age out of the system. When the children come into foster care of leave foster care typically they move all of their worldly possessions in a trash bag. Cases For A Cause is a District Rotary service project that provides foster children dignity in the form of a suitcase. We replace trash bags with donated suitcases that are new or gently used. Over the last two years, CXR has partnered with OCJ Kids and donated over 800 suitcases. This project spans the state and is ongoing.

Svob Park Tree Planting

Led by CXR, the Tempe Rotary clubs joined forces with the City of Tempe to plant over 100 trees in the Fall of 2017. Our club was seeking a way to engage potential young Rotarians and determined a tree planting project would not only enhance the livability of our community but engage a new generation in service by showing that the things important to them are important to Rotary.

RYLA

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a three night camp teaching high school age students about leadership. There are two camps each year, one in Heber Overgaard area, and one in Prescott. Annually, about 230 Student delegates learn leadership skills through zip lining, public speaking, and guest speakers. It is a great way for youth to learn about the global reach of Rotary and give them opportunities to become involved through Rotary’s Interact program.

CXR Trivia Night!

Part of Camelback Crossroads Club is fund raising to help support local non profits.  Trivia Night is one of the main fundraising events that we host.  Its a fun night that is themed by Rotarys pillars.  For example our Trivia Night at Phoenix Public market was literacy themed. Its a fun way to spread awareness about Rotary as well as non profits right in our own backyard.
